Caves du Château d’Auvernier

Place des Epancheurs 6 – 2012 Milvignes

How to get there

Built in 1559, the château and 7 ha of vines came into the family in 1603, when Pierre II Chambrier bought them. For more than 4 centuries, Château d'Auvernier, in perfect harmony with its vineyards, has been striving to uphold the reputation of Neuchâtel wines.

Since 1823, it has been the women who have carried on the Chambrier bloodline through their marriages: Sandoz-Rollin, Pourtalès, Montmollin ... Grosjean.

The history of the Neuchâtel region, which has been free of conflict since 1296, the recurrent economic difficulties of the wine market over the centuries, and above all a great deal of generosity, selflessness and sometimes sacrifice, have all contributed to its survival.

Since January 1, 2022, the 15th generation, represented by Henry, has taken over the reins of the estate from his father, Thierry Grosjean.

Tour & Tasting

Come and discover the different facets of the Neuchâtel wine region as well as our Château dating from 1559.

Since 1603, our estate has seen 15 generations perpetuate the family tradition with passion.

With a complete visit of the vineyard, the cellar and a tasting, we offer you an immersion in this warm atmosphere.

The wine is the child of a year of Creation, during which nature, the soil, the environment, the grape varieties, the cultivation techniques and then the cellaring, shape the character and identity of the wine.

Tasting of 3 or 5 wines

Come and discover the different nuances of the Neuchâtel wine region through the tasting of 3 or 5 wines of your choice.

We offer you the possibility to come and taste 3 or 5 of our vintages of your choice.

These tastings will take place in our dedicated room "Les Marronniers". This will allow you to discover the family world of Château d'Auvernier as well as the different aspects of the Neuchâtel wine region.

If you wish to visit and degustate, please contact us on our e-mail address: visite@chateau-auvernier.ch .
