Schmutz vins is a family winery that has passed on its knowledge for 5 generations.
The story begins in 1860. At that time, the Schmutz family was growing vines on the southern slopes of Mont Vully, on the shores of Lake Murten.
In the 1900s, Auguste Schmutz bought the family estate and began making his own wine.
Since that day, generations and vintages of the family have followed one another.
Since 2001, Sébastien Schmutz has worked over 6ha of vines, cultivated on soils composed of molasse at depth and alkaline sands on the surface. The vineyard comprises 14 grape varieties, 5 whites and 9 reds.
Each year, our 15 hectares of vineyards produce a wide range of wines with care and respect for the terroir.
Today, the domaine's future is in the hands of Loïc and Jolan, the sixth generation to join the family business and keep the story alive.
