Fromagerie des Chaux wins Gruyère Neuchâtelois of the Year award

The Neuchâtel Chamber of Agriculture and Viticulture (CNAV), in collaboration with the Interprofession du Gruyère (IPG) and Neuchâtel Vins et Terroir (NVT), today organized the sixth selection of Neuchâtel Gruyère PDO. A jury made up of journalists, politicians and culinary experts made their choice from a selection of cheeses scoring over 19 points out of 20 for the whole of 2022.

10 Cheeses for 9 cheese dairies

Farmers and cheesemakers from La Sagne, Le Cerneux-Péquignot, Bémont, Les Chaux, Les Ponts-de-Martel, La Joux du Plâne, Chézard-Saint-Martin (organic and traditional), Les Sagnettes and Les Bayards were nominated for selection.
Fromagerie des Chaux wins the prize for best Neuchâtel Gruyère. The company that produces milk is run by Mr. Edouard Philipona, while Mr. Stéphane Menoud oversees the production of cheese.

Neuchâtel Gruyère AOP selection

This sixth selection is part of a long-term vision to promote our cheese on the one hand, but also to inform people about the superior quality of our product thanks to the typicality of our terrain, which provides a flora rich in species to feed livestock on the other. The CNAV, in collaboration with the professionals from Gruyère AOP and Neuchâtel Vins et Terroir, will be highlighting the producers and cheesemakers who will be referenced for a year by the canton’s promotional organization.
